English Programme Plan

1. Aims:

The overall aims of the English Language Education curriculum are:

     1.1 to arouse students’ interest in learning English;

     1.2 to enrich students’ knowledge of English language using relevant methods and resources;

     1.3 to revamp the existing school-based curriculum in order to enhance students’ self-directed learning, cultivate their reading habits and a sense of belonging towards the country  

 

2. Situational Analysis:

2.1  Strengths

     2.1.1 E-learning in English language teaching has been implemented from P.3 to P.6 for three years. The P.1 and P.2 students have experienced using tablets in the PLP-R/W lessons.

     2.1.2 Most students have developed the habit of note-taking.

 

2.2  Weaknesses

     2.2.1 Students’ abilities are diverse.

     2.2.2 Most parents are not proficient enough to follow up students’ work at home.

 

3. Focus area of the Action Plan 2024-2025

3.1  Promote national identity and national security education, cultivate a sense of belonging towards the country and a sense of national identity among students. (MJ 1)

3.2  Cultivate students’ physical-mind-spirit well-being to be a healthy KSLPS kid. (MJ2)

3.3  Enhance students’ language proficiency through different methods and activities
